dan latt was born in washington dc, and first achieved notice playing piano for composer bj leiderman's themes for national public radio, which have aired continuously for 30 years. during a 15 year span in florida, dan played on over 200 albums and commericals, as well as accompanying jazz legends such as guitarist larry coryell, saxophonist/ multiinstrumentalist ira sullivan and saxophonist buck hill. for many years, dan played in the puzzlers, a 6 piece island/jazz/rock ensemble that was considered one of the most versatile and muscular in florida. his favorite group was one formed with late jazz guitarist billy van riper.
